Leeds UK Friends/Alumni For Our Friend, brother and Colleague February 17, 2013

Cameroonian Friends of Hilary
At Leeds and Leeds University

We have been greatly saddened to learn of the passing of Hilary. Hilary was more than a friend to us, he was a brother with whom we shared some tough times but also some of the best times of our formative years at Leeds. We hope the family may find solace in knowing that Hilary was a great person, who always conducted himself with calm and dignity and shared with an open heart, his wealth of knowledge always with a smile. His presence was very enriching and we are very grateful to have known him in this life. We will miss him dearly as, we are sure, will many others. Our sincere condolences to Hilary’s parents, brothers, sisters and friends, as we share in this grief.  We would especially like to extend our specific message to Ernestine and their three children to stay strong and to endeavor to maintain a lasting legacy for our beloved brother by emulating his positive approach, drive, humility and humaneness. The kids in memory of their father should never give up on their goals in life to honor his memory. We wish Ernestine a speedy recovery.  Please, remain assured that you are in our thoughts and prayers.

Festus Akemfua Jesus Our Eternal Hope February 15, 2013

Dear Enestine,

On this painful day, when everything seems lost, when the husband you loved and cherished is no longer there...and time seems to have stopped: I pray that Jesus the Christ, our Lord and Savior may be with you and from his unsearchables riches give you that peace and consolation which surpasses all understanding.

I pray that He may strengthen you & give you and your children the grace & faith to move on.

In baptism Hilary was united in Christ. May he enjoy eternal peace.

Forever stay blessed.

HILARY WAS MY FRIEND AND CLASSMATE. HE WAS SIMPLE, HUMBLE, KIND AND HARD WORKING. GOD HAS CALLED HIM HOME AND I PRAY THAT HISSURVIVING FAMILY WILL HAVE THE GRACE TO BE MORE FAITHFULTO GOD BE CAUSE WHEN GOD CALL PEOPLE TO GLORY HE WANTS US TO SEE HIM AND NOT OUR HUMAN IDOLS. WE LOVED HILARY BUT GOD LOVED HIM MORE. HIS COMMAND TO US IS "IF YOU LOVE ME, FEED MY SHEEP". GOD DOES NOT ASK IF WE LOVE HILARY OR ONE ANOTHER. BUT THAT WE SHOULD LOVE HIM SO THAT HIS LOVE CAN FLOW THROUGH US TO EVERY ONE INCLUDING HILARY. THE LOVE WE HAVE FOR ONE ANOTHER DOES NOT STOP US FROM DESTROYING ONE ANOTHER. BUT THE L OVE OF GOD IN OUR LIVES WILL OVERFLOW TO EVERYONE EVEN TO OUR ENEMIES AND THE DEVIL WILL NOT USE US TO DESTROY ONE ANOTHER. LET US BE UNITED IN THE LOVE OF CHRIST WHO BOUGHT THE POWER OF SIN AND DEATH ON THE CROSS OF CALVARY FOR US. THANK YOU GOD FOR MAKING US PAUSE TO REMEMBER YOU AS GOD BY CALLING YOUR SON HILARY HOME.
